As of this afternoon, my wife and I are no longer home owners. We fought back tears as we handed the keys off to the new owner. We think the home is in good hands, and are certain the new owners will love it as much as we have for the past 5 years.
We’ve done a lot of work on the place since Melanie bought it back in 2006 (a.k.a. “the height of the housing bubble”). I thought it would be fun to post some pictures we took on the first day Melanie moved in (and a couple shortly thereafter), and compare them with photos taken from the same vantage point on our way out of the house for the last time. Here are some before-and-afters:
We had some good times in that house, and there’s been a lot of work along the way. We aren’t the most skilled craftspeople around, but I think we left the place in better condition than when we arrived.
