Jet-Lag in København

Mel and I are at our hotel in København and are having a good time. Local time is 4:00 AM, and I’ve just woken up and showered – ready to start the day. Mel is still making good effort to try and sleep, but I decided I´d rather get up for the day. We spent yesterday walking around København – giving ourselves the self-guided tour. We´ve seen a lot of things we like – mostly bikes. Old, green, Raleigh´s to be exact. They´re everywhere & I want one. Also, nobody here locks their bikes up to anything, they just lock the bike to itself. So nothing is keeping someone from picking up your bike and carrying it away, other than the fact that the bikes here all weight like 50 lbs.

I´m discovering typing to be a little more difficult than I anticipated because some of the characters are in different places on this Danish keyboard than on American keyboards – and there´s some extra characters that I don´t really know what to do with. like å,æ,and ø.

Mel ånd I decided tø gø tø church this mørning in the Fredericksberg Wård møstly før the cultural experience. But it might be reålly børing since it will åll be in Dånish. The building is å little further øutside øf the city center thån we ventured yesterdåy. We åre gøing tø use søme øf the free city bikes tø get there, but we think it might be illegål tø tåke the bikes thåt får øut øf the city. We åre høping we døn´t get årrested. If yøu døn´t heår frøm us ågåin, we´re prøbåbly in jåil før steåling city bikes.

  1. Have fun! I can't wait to read more about your adventure & about Danish church! Stopped by the house today…no ceiling collapses or water spills.

  2. Best of luck to you in your travels! Enjoy your time. I can't wait to hear more about it and see pictoral documentation.

P.S. I loved the use of the foreign keyboard characters on the last half of your post. It made me happy.
