HOME ALONe

NO, this isn’t a post about my favorite movie:

It’s about how I really am home alone because my wife is in utah celebrating her Grandfather’s 80th birthday.  Yay for birthdays.  But it’s left me with a lot of time to sit around and do nothing.  I’ve been trying to stay busy, but mostly i’ve just been sitting in front of the computer.  Turns out, I no longer have friends or hobbies.  Who knew that once you get married, you quit doing all the things you really like doing????
To make things a little worse, I have a little bit of a sore throat, so going jogging or cycling are out…  So what have I been doing all weekend?  Well, I watched my second favorite movie:
I also read the mail… hmm..
I did finish putting some trim up on the very tip-top of one of the eaves of our home (because the squirrels gnawed through the last one and were living in our attic).  I’ve been battling them for the past few weekends but I think I’ve finally won.
I went out to eat TWICE, and somehow I feel justified in doing so.  As if I couldn’t possibly eat at home if Melanie isn’t here!
Ok, so let’s recap.  I’ve been eating, sleeping, sitting, and being a lazy oaf (other than fixing/painting the roof).
Also, our house is c o l d.  It’s 62 degrees in here, but i’m not allowed to turn the heat on until Thanksgiving because my wife says so.

Just think you are getting quality "me" time.

  • Funny, because Evan and I aren't even married yet and we realized that we really don't have friends. I mean, I have a friends I talk to on the phone and SOMETIMES hang out with, but not on a regular occasion. I guess things just change when you spend most of your time with one person, you don't have much time for anything else. (Except, of course, when that person is on a vacation.)
